Positive Residents and Teammates

Dear residents, families and teammates,

During routine resident and teammate testing earlier this week, six Terrace residents, one Joyce Hall resident and two teammates received positive antigen results for COVID-19. The teammates work in Joyce Hall and skilled nursing. PVN utilizes a two-step testing approach by first administering a rapid antigen test, followed by a PCR lab test. Antigen tests identify an active coronavirus infection and PVN can get results onsite. However, there is a greater potential for a “false positive”, while a PCR test detects genetic material and has a higher level of accuracy.

Residents and family members of the impacted residents are immediately notified of the antigen results and the corresponding PCR results, once available. Anyone who had contact with the positive individual is identified through contact tracing and notified. If the PCR results confirm a positive case, a communication is sent to residents and families in that community via email, posted on Cubigo and on our website.

Our residents’ and teammates’ safety remains our top priority. We share your concern about the current positive COVID-19 cases in our community and will continue to work to limit additional exposure. We are happy to see many residents recovering and returning home as communicated in a letter yesterday. The chart below represents the current situation.
