COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents and Teammates,

Please note the following important updates regarding the ongoing COVID-19 virus and the measures we are taking to prioritize safety at Presbyterian Village North (PVN).

COVID-19 cases are increasing locally and nationally. The national positivity rate currently stands at 13.4%, with the Texas region’s rate at 18%. Additionally, hospital admissions due to COVID-19 have risen by 18.8% nationally, and by 42.9% in Dallas County. The Dallas County public risk level is categorized as yellow, signaling that we should exercise caution.

A new booster vaccine, designed to enhance immunity against the ever-evolving COVID-19 Omicron sub-variants, is expected to be released by the end of September. Currently, only 37% of Dallas County residents are fully vaccinated, which impacts the local spread of the virus. In response, PVN will partner with a vendor to host vaccine clinics when the latest booster is made available, as we no longer receive government-subsidized vaccines. The dates for these clinics will be dependent on vaccine approval and availability.

Protecting yourself and others by wearing a mask remains the most effective measure to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. Our community serves a population that may face increased risks from the virus, therefore, we strongly encourage the use of masks in common areas and when attending group events, especially for those who may be immunocompromised.

Your health and safety are of paramount importance to us, and we appreciate your continued commitment to taking the necessary precautions to protect our residents and teammates.
