I joined the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) community on June 29, as the Housekeeping Director.
Brief description of what your role involves:
In my role, I’m responsible for making sure resident homes and campus public areas stay clean. As a department, our team also supports the different events that happen at PVN including happy hours, various meetings, seminars and parties.
Professionally, I am passionate about:
I’m passionate about delivering resident satisfaction. I love what I do and take pride in my work. I have been in this field for more than 24 years and there is always something new for me to learn.
Favorite memory/moment to date during your time at PVN:
PVN feels like a second home. I always look forward to seeing residents and teammates.
What do you think sets PVN apart from other communities?
What sets PVN apart is the friendly environment. There is a real culture of care and respect for one another.

My favorite cuisine is Mexican food and my favorite dishes to order are chili rellenos and red enchiladas.
In my free time, I enjoy (hobbies):
I enjoy sewing. As a gift for my mom, I sewed a couple of stuffed bears with clothes from my two brothers who passed away years ago. My mom loved them and was so touched to receive the bears. I also enjoy coloring and have loved coloring books since I was a little girl.
Share about your family:
I have three children: Elia, age 28, Brenda Saharay, age 25, and Jorge Luis and 23. They mean the whole world to me. We all live together and I love it!. I also have a six year old dog named Daisy. Technically Daisy belongs to my daughter Brenda, but we all love her so much. Regarding my extended family, I am lucky to still have my mom, two sisters and one brother.
How would your friends describe you in three words?
My friends would say that I am caring, passionate and a hard worker.
What’s something that people might be surprised to learn about you?
People might be surprised to learn that I was born in Mexico and came to the United States at the age of 18. I had no family or friends and I didn’t speak English, but God was and is always with me and helped me make a good life here.
