At Presbyterian Village North (PVN), no two days are ever the same for Community Life Manager Dora Leiva. From coordinating engaging activities to bringing residents together through a variety of experiences, her work is centered on enhancing the social well-being of the community.
Dora’s days are filled with planning an array of programs and events, including guest speakers, book reviews, entertainers, bingo, trivia, game nights and much more.
Recently, Dora stepped into her new role as Community Life Manager after serving more than two years as a Community Life Coordinator.
“I had a great manager that showed me everything that it took to be a leader. Earning this promotion was something that I was hoping and praying for and just receiving that support from the residents felt great and very rewarding and I can’t wait for what the future holds,” said Dora.
Around the same time, the Community Life Department celebrated another exciting advancement. Regina Trujillo, a familiar face to many residents, transitioned from her role as a server in the dining department to Community Life Coordinator.
In her new position, Regina helps plan activities for Independent Living residents, assists with event calendars, manages sign-ups and supports the many programs that make life at PVN vibrant and engaging.
For Regina, the move felt like a natural progression. Having already built strong relationships with residents during her time in dining services, she was eager to continue serving the community in a new way.
“The community is very friendly and feels like a second home,” Regina said. “It’s easy to come to work every day and spend time with the residents.”
Together, Dora and Regina have become the driving force behind many of PVN’s most memorable events.
This team’s enthusiasm, creativity and commitment have not gone unnoticed. Residents continue to embrace the opportunities they provide, helping make PVN a place where friendships flourish and every day offers something new to enjoy.
As the Community Life team continues to serve, residents can look forward to even more engaging programs and memorable moments in the months ahead.
