Spring is in the Air at PVN

Spring has arrived and it’s in full bloom at Presbyterian Village North (PVN). This season is a time of renewal and plants literally wake up. As temperatures rise and daylight increases, plants respond through a process called “photoperiodism,” nature’s way of saying it’s time to grow, bloom and reproduce.

Residents get to enjoy the fresh vibrant colored flowers, delicate cherry blossoms and wildlife coming out to play.

In addition to the lush landscape, PVN is home to a lively mix of animals including ducks and recently hatched adorable ducklings, colorful fish, turtles, purple martins, rabbits, squirrels and Canadian geese. A stroll along PVN’s walking trail offers the perfect opportunity to take in the natural beauty surrounding the community.

Spring is also peak migration season. Millions of birds travel thousands of miles during this time and PVN’s purple martins are no exception. Their annual pilgrimage covers more than 5,000 miles from their winter home in Brazil to their northern home at PVN.

With longer days and the sunlight stretching into the evening, there’s no shortage of time to get outside and enjoy the beauty of spring at Presbyterian Village North.
