Spreading Love and Joy: CLA’s Heartfelt Valentine’s Day Mission

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in our own little worlds, forgetting the impact a simple act of kindness can have on someone else. But for the compassionate souls at CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP (CLA), spreading love and joy isn’t just a once-a-year affair; it’s a tradition deeply ingrained in their company culture.

This year, a group of more than 30 CLA employees embarked on a heartwarming mission to brighten the lives of memory care residents at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Rahim N. Habib, CPA, CLA Principal, beautifully articulated the company’s commitment to serving clients within the senior living and care industry. “We recognize that loneliness and isolation are serious issues affecting the overall health of the elderly,” he said. “As a team, we wanted to do our part to spread some joy.”

Partnering with Presbyterian Village North for the second consecutive year, CLA took their project to the next level by assembling and delivering Valentine’s Day cards in person. This created moments of connection and warmth between the team members and residents reminding them they are loved and valued members of the community.

But CLA’s generosity didn’t stop at just creating cards. This year, they went above and beyond, involving independent living residents in the card-making process and fostering bonds across different segments of PVN’s community. Together, with a few teammates from Forefront Living, they crafted more than 150 cards, each one a labor of love. And the gifts? All from the memory care wish list, they were nothing short of heartwarming. From snack bags to baby dolls swaddled in little blankets along with changes of clothing and even specially selected puzzles to assist with the resident’s cognitive function, CLA ensured that the residents would have plenty of reasons to smile and feel cherished.

“Being able to partner with Presbyterian Village North for the second year to deliver Valentine’s Day cards and other gifts in person was a great way to spread joy and remind the residents they are loved and cared for whether it be by the teammates at Presbyterian Village North and Forefront Living, or your industry partners at CLA. It also allowed our CLA family members an ability to see the impact our clients are making everyday to the community and the residents they serve.” Habib said.

In the end, it wasn’t just about the cards or the gifts; it was about the connections made, the smiles exchanged and the love shared. As we approach Valentine’s Day, let us all take a page from CLA’s book and remember the profound impact a simple act of kindness can have.
