Presbyterian Village North (PVN) was full of patriotic spirit as residents, teammates and their four-legged companions came together for the 20th Annual Pet-riotic Parade. As America celebrated its 250th birthday, the event was a joyful reminder of the traditions that PVN residents hold dear.
What began nearly 20 years ago as a simple idea from residents Joe and Rosie Nall has grown into a cherished PVN celebration. Though both Joe and Rosie have passed, their legacy of joy and community was felt throughout the day.
More than 100 residents, teammates and family members, along with plenty of pups, joined the one-mile parade around campus dressed in festive red, white and blue.
One of the most touching moments came as the parade passed through Assisted Living and Memory Support. Residents lit up as the dogs passed by, offering smiles, applause and plenty of affection.
The celebration ended at Gruchalla Pavilion with snacks for the humans and the canines. Twenty years later, the Pet-riotic Parade continues to bring joy and happy memories to the PVN community.
