PVN’s Annual Service of Remembrance: Honoring Lives, Creating Connections

On January 22, the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) community came together in a poignant hour-long Annual Service of Remembrance, held in the serene setting of the PVN Chapel. The event was a collective tribute to the residents who had passed away in the previous year, a heartfelt acknowledgment of their lives and a celebration of the community’s spirit.

Nancy Sheets, Guest Relations Joyce Hall, expressed gratitude to the PVN community for their unwavering support during such sensitive times. “It is all about Making Each Moment Matter. We do not know how long we have, but those who can need to be kind and generous to one another. Thank you to this group for always going above and beyond for our families and PVN.”

One of the unique and touching aspects of the service was highlighted by Lisa Englander, Director of Resident Services. She shared, “What is truly so special about our village is that if there is no family to light the candle, a resident will come up to say the name quietly and light a candle. Also, friends walk with the widow so she won’t be alone to light the candle. It is truly so loving and special to see such genuine kindness.”

The Annual Service of Remembrance, led by PVN’s Spiritual Care Team and additional teammates from various departments, not only served as a moment of reflection but also underscored the close-knit and compassionate nature of the PVN community. By coming together to honor those who have left their mark, PVN continues to build connections and provide solace in times of grief, embodying the essence of a caring and supportive village.
