Residents and teammates of Presbyterian Village North (PVN) came together on Monday, November 10, for the annual Walk for Memory in honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness. The event, which was initially planned to take place at the Gazebo Circle loop, was moved inside the Corrigan Commons area due to chilly weather. Despite the nearly-freezing temperatures, approximately 30 participants joined together to walk side by side in support of those living with Alzheimer’s and in recognition of the families and caregivers who stand beside them.
During the month of November, residents and teammates are encouraged to wear purple and purchase a PVN-branded t-shirt to show support and raise awareness every Friday and during Happy Hour. Proceeds from the sales of the shirts will be given to the Dallas Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
For some, the event was personal — a chance to remember loved ones who have faced Alzheimer’s. For others, it was an opportunity to show solidarity and hope for continued advances in care and support.
The spirit of the day captured the heart of the PVN community: compassion, unity and shared purpose. Each step taken represented a commitment to walking together toward understanding and awareness, one memory at a time.
