Halloween at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) was full of laughter, candy and community spirit. Instead of simply handing out treats, about 30 residents and team members spent time on Halloween afternoon giving back by hosting a special celebration for 65 kindergartners from nearby Stults Road Elementary School.
The PVN parking lot was transformed into a Halloween wonderland with a homemade corn maze and a row of spooky, decorated trunks ready for Trunk-or-Treat fun. The children arrived in colorful costumes and were greeted with cheers and smiles from the residents and teammates who had spent weeks planning the event.
A highlight was the “Halloween Corn Maze Challenge.” The students explored twists and turns of the maze, as the “Corn Lady” guided them along the way. Everyone who made it through the maze received small educational toys and items as prizes.
In addition to the maze, students lined up for Halloween-themed Trunk-or-Treat fun. Residents and teammates handed out candy, pencils and other fun surprises while sharing in the excitement of the day.
For PVN residents, the event was another chance to strengthen their long-standing connection with Stults Road Elementary, a Title I Dallas ISD school located just south of the PVN campus. Over the years, residents have served as reading buddies and classroom helpers for the students, creating meaningful bonds across generations.
As students walked away back towards their school, residents waved goodbye, already chatting about what they might create for next year’s event.
