On Tuesday, November 29, Dustin Allen, Executive Director of Presbyterian Village North (PVN) led the first in a series of resident book reviews. More than 80 residents attended the 45-minute session in which Dustin shared the plot and pivotal moments in The Last Year of The War from the acclaimed author of Secrets of a Charmed Life and As Bright as Heaven, Susan Meissner. This novel is about a German American teenager whose life changed forever when her immigrant family was sent to an internment camp in Texas during World War II. Allen provided a thorough overview of the book and personal insight into how it affected him as he read it as well as what he learned from reading it.
