Teammates at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) are celebrated throughout the year thanks in part to the dedication and creativity of PVN’s Culture Committee. The committee plays a key role in promoting a positive workplace environment by showing appreciation for their hard work.
“The culture committee is comprised of teammates that represent every department on campus. Right now, we have 13 members and we come up with all the events to celebrate teammates year-round including recognition programs. The whole purpose is to make this a fabulous place to work and make our teammates happy,” said Estee Cahani, PVN Director of Rehabilitation and Culture Committee Member.
From festive pop-up celebrations to team-building activities, the committee creates opportunities for teammates to connect outside of their daily responsibilities. Some of the appreciation events have included handing out sweet treats during a Valentine’s Day-themed pop-up, hosting a dodgeball picnic and organizing town hall meetings where teammates can socialize, enjoy snacks, play games, win prizes and receive awards for their contributions.
“It feels really good because, yes, this job is very rewarding but it also brings the whole community in one place since we don’t see all of the departments a lot and having this time together it just makes it really fun,” shared Dora Leiva, PVN Community Life Manager and Culture Committee Member.
With more than 400 teammates serving residents at PVN it’s important for teammates to feel valued, connected and supported. Through the efforts of the Culture Committee among others, everyone is reminded that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and that creating a strong workplace culture is just as important as the care and service they provide every day. This committee is evolving and hopes to expand in other Forefront Living communities.
