On Sunday, September 17, 2023, the community at Presbyterian Village North (PVN) came together in a heartwarming celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. This special event, organized by two of PVN’s beloved residents, Cynthia Logan and Elizabeth Ritz, brought together 31 residents for an educational and celebratory gathering.
Rosh Hashanah, a significant holiday in the Jewish faith, marks the beginning of the Jewish calendar year and is a time for reflection, renewal and hope. Cynthia Logan and Elizabeth Ritz shared the traditions and significance of Rosh Hashanah with their fellow residents, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Residents had the opportunity to learn about the history and customs associated with the holiday, deepening their understanding and appreciation of Jewish culture. The event not only celebrated the Jewish New Year but also exemplified the strong sense of community and respect for one another that defines PVN.
Through the sharing of the Jewish traditions and fostering understanding among residents and teammates, this gathering was a shining example of the spirit of inclusivity and harmony that thrives within the community. This event reminds us that learning about and celebrating each other’s cultures can bring us closer together, enriching the tapestry of our lives. It’s a testament to the fact that, regardless of our backgrounds, we can all come together to learn, celebrate and cherish the moments that bind us as one big family at Presbyterian Village North.
