Ballroom shoes polished and ready, Diane McMahon-Bergan is preparing to bring her love of dance to the grand stage of the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant. A proud resident of Presbyterian Village North (PVN), Diane will represent her community while celebrating a life filled with vibrancy, purpose and grace.
The pageant, set for November 1 at the Hilton Richardson, will welcome nearly 20 contestants from across the state. Each contestant is 60 or better and will take the stage to share their talents, tell their stories and embrace the pageant’s theme of “The Age of Elegance.” Now in its 28th year, the event was designed to showcase how dynamic and accomplished senior women continue to be.
For Diane, the experience is not about crowns or competition. Instead, it’s an opportunity to challenge stereotypes and highlight the strength and creativity that come with age. Her ballroom dancing performance is more than entertainment — it’s a statement that seniors have passions to pursue, wisdom to share and a unique ability to inspire others.
PVN has cheered before from the audience. Last year, resident Vicki Keltner earned the People’s Choice Award, and this year Diane is proudly following in her footsteps.
The Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant doesn’t just spotlight talent. It celebrates resilience, mental well-being and the power of seniors to continue shaping their communities. Contestants like Diane embody a positive image of aging, showing that life after 60 is not about slowing down but leaning fully into new possibilities.
As Diane prepares for the spotlight, she carries more than her own story with her. She represents seniors across Texas whose voices, experiences and elegance deserve to be seen. And with every step on the dance floor, she’s proving that the grace of age is something worth celebrating.
