She has been with PVN for nearly five years where she leads a vibrant team of Lifestyle Coordinators to create dynamic programming designed to meet the interests of PVN residents. Forefront Living is thankful for devoted teammates like Maurisha who bring joy and compassion to the lives of those she serves. We sat down with Maurisha to learn more about her through an interactive question and answer session. Read more about this fun-loving and caring teammate below.
What are you passionate about regarding your professional role?
I am passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of the seniors I serve at PVN. To be a source of light for residents on a gloomy day is so fulfilling. It thrills me to share laughter, listen to life stories and make wonderful memories with our residents each day.
Where could we find you on the weekend?
On the weekend you can find me spending quality time with my family, playing with my grandkids, relaxing at the movies or enjoying my husband’s delicious cooking – Collen is the cook in my house, lucky me!
Tell us about your hobbies:
My hobbies include singing, online shopping and studying my husband’s first language. He is from Zimbabwe, Africa, and speaks Shona. I am determined to learn a second language!
What are some of your favorite foods and restaurants?
My favorite type of food is seafood, and I am your go-to girl for Cajun cuisine! I love to dine at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen or Nate’s Seafood and Steakhouse located in Addison. Order the crab claws at Nate’s and you won’t be disappointed!
Tell us a little more about your family:
I am married to the best guy in the world, Collen Mutswiri. We have been married for five years and my family adores him. We are still on our honeymoon! Combined, we have eight children, ranging from ages 25 to 9. We also have four grandchildren including Breale (age 5), KJ (age 4), Kayden (age 3) and Breanna (age 2). I feel very blessed to have met such a wonderful man, father and soulmate.
How would your friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as the life of the party! I am always ready for fun!
Lisa Englander, PVN’s Director of Resident Services, shared these kind words about Maurisha: “Maurisha cares deeply about her residents and will do anything for them. She thoughtfully creates special programming for her population and hosts weekly Irish coffee events that are standing room only. Truly, Maurisha is the life of the party! She and her team also plan the best parties. They decorate, serve themed goodies, hire engaging entertainment and dress up for the occasion!”
