PVN Stays Cool at Pool Party

While the Texas summer heat is here to stay for the next few months, the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) Wellness and Community Life teams planned a refreshing escape for residents by organizing the annual PVN summer pool party to celebrate fun and fitness, while also hosting a very special guest this year! Entertainer and crooner Marty Ruiz made a splash by providing cool tunes and chill dance moves for the event. Since the opening of the Lifestyles Fitness  Center in 2017, this event has become a favorite summer activity among both residents and teammates.

PVN teammates made a grand entrance into the Lifestyles Fitness Center, with several dressed as Marty Ruiz’s top fans and others as his security detail. Residents participated in several teammate-led, choreographed aquatic warmups to kick off the pool party fun and games. This exciting event included competitive float races, pool volleyball and even some float sparring.

The summer pool party encourages residents to get back into the swim of things regardless of their athletic ability. It is also one of the many Wellness University 2024 activities created especially for residents to kick-start their commitment to the five dimensions of wellness including intellectual/vocational, social, physical, spiritual/emotional and environmental.
