At Presbyterian Village North (PVN), remembrance is more than reflection—it’s a profound act of community. In a deeply moving tradition, residents and teammates recently gathered in the PVN Chapel for the Annual Service of Remembrance, an hour dedicated to honoring those who had passed in the previous year.
What makes this ceremony uniquely touching is the unwavering support woven into every moment. If a resident has no family present to light a candle in their memory, another community member steps forward, ensuring no name goes unspoken. Widows/widowers are never left to walk alone; friends gently accompany them, a quiet but powerful gesture of solidarity.
Lisa Englander, Director of Resident Services, describes it best: “What is truly special about our village is the way we care for one another. No one is forgotten. There is always someone to light a candle, always a hand to hold.”
Led by PVN’s Spiritual Care Team and supported by teammates from across the community, the service is not just about remembering—it’s about reaffirming the bonds that make PVN a place of deep connection. In moments of loss, love shines brightest, proving that at PVN, no one walks alone.
