Presbyterian Village North (PVN) residents were treated to a delightful twist on a beloved Texas tradition during the fourth annual Assisted Living State Fair, held in mid-October 2024. Organized by PVN’s Community Life Team, the event was packed with nostalgic fun, bringing the spirit of the State Fair of Texas right to their doorstep.
“So many of our residents have fond memories of the State Fair of Texas, and we love to recreate that excitement here for them,” said Maurisha Bowie, Community Life Manager. “Bringing joy to the residents is always our primary focus as a Life Enrichment team.”
The fair featured an array of attractions including classic games like ring toss, target shooting with Nerf guns and a photo booth complete with costumes. Residents participated in the fun, competing for prizes, while the air was filled with festive carnival music. Teammates and residents embraced the spirit, dressing in costumes and reveling in the lively atmosphere.
Like any great fair, the treats were a highlight. PVN’s food trailer provided an assortment of fair favorites—corny dogs, cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn. “It’s all about creating those special moments and bringing a little piece of the State Fair to PVN,” Bowie said.
The event left everyone smiling, reinforcing the PVN community’s dedication to enriching the lives of its residents with memorable experiences.
