Senior living residents of Presbyterian Village North (PVN) kicked off Halloween weekend with a spirited “Halloween Hustle” competition.
In lieu of indulging in treats, those living and working at PVN were invited to flex their healthy competitive spirits by building their own triathlon and selecting three different exercises to complete within a 30-minute heat. Fitness options included competing at PVN’s state-of-the-art Lifestyle Fitness Center on the rowing machine, spin bike, treadmill, NuStep, recumbent bike, walking laps, swimming, water walking, aqua cycling or noodle swimming. Twenty-five residents and three teammates competed while a squad of enthusiastic teammates cheered them on.
Participants and spectators fully embraced the spirit of the season by dressing in costume and adorning themselves with black-light-friendly attire so they could glow and glisten as they battled for first place. This event, a community favorite amongst the competitive group of seniors, was held for the first time since before the pandemic began and the exuberant vibe made it evident this experience had been missed!
Top mileage results from the 2022 Halloween Hustle are as follows:
Janice Bentley, PVN Resident – 7.6 miles
Dustin Allen, PVN Executive Director – 6.36 miles
John Drake, PVN Resident – 6.12 miles
Congratulations and Happy Halloween!
