At Presbyterian Village North (PVN), August was packed with fun-filled events and outings for independent living residents. From exciting trips around town to engaging events right on campus, there was no shortage of opportunities to connect and wind down the summer season. Here’s a look back at some of the memorable moments that made this month extra special.
Stitched with Love: PVN Resident Shines at 2025 Plano Quilt Show
Presbyterian Village North (PVN) residents recently enjoyed a colorful day at the 2025 Plano Quilt Show, one of Texas’ premier quilting events. Thirteen residents made the trip to the Plano Event Center to experience the incredible creativity, craftsmanship and community that fills the show each year.
This year’s event featured over 300 stunning quilts, a lively Mini Quilt Auction, special exhibits and plenty of vendors offering everything from fabric to handmade treasures. Among the highlights was PVN resident Patsy Padgett, who proudly displayed her own quilting creations in a booth, sharing her artistry with visitors from near and far.
From intricate designs to bold patterns, the quilts on display told stories stitched with care and passion. For our PVN group, the show was more than just a feast for the eyes — it was a celebration of talent, tradition and the joy of creating something beautiful by hand.

PVN Residents Visit Dallas Fire Station 22
A group of 12 Presbyterian Village North (PVN) residents recently got a behind-the-scenes look at life inside Dallas Fire Station 22. The popular outing filled up fast, with firefighters leading an hourlong tour of the station, answering questions and posing for photos.
The visit was extra special because the PVN Foundation has recently donated $10,000 each to Stations 22 and 28 who serve the PVN community. These gifts helped buy workout equipment, nightstands and a custom dinner table. Residents loved seeing how their support made a difference and left with an even greater appreciation for the first responders’ daily work.
