A+ Effort Supplies Students with Success

On a Monday morning this summer, rising 5th grader Emeree McGough woke up early to join her mom, Amee, at work for a busy day in the Forefront Living offices. The ten-year-old dressed in her professional best and hopped in the car to make the trek for a day of organizing school supplies purchased from the Stults Road Elementary School wish list. Over the years, Stults Road, a Title 1 neighborhood school located directly behind the campus of Presbyterian Village North (PVN), has shared a long-standing, mutually beneficial partnership with PVN. The supplies assembled by Emeree were bought specifically for the school’s 5th-grade students to ensure a successful school year. Emeree spent the day unboxing, sorting and packaging up pens, colored pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, glue sticks and pencil bags for these deserving fellow 5th graders. By the end of her workday, she assembled 12 back-to-school goody bags and enclosed a hand-written note inside each bag wishing the students a great year ahead.

“It was fun making sure other 5th grade students have a good year at school,” shared Emeree.

In addition to Emeree’s contribution, PVN residents and teammates held their 5th annual school supply donation drive. On Friday, August 23, a multi-generational group representing PVN gathered the bags and boxes filled with the donated supplies, along with $600 in gift cards, and delivered them to Ron Anthony, Stults Elementary Principal.

“It was so special to see the community come together for our neighbors at Stults Road Elementary. We look forward to partnering together for another school year,” commented Daisy Fuentes, PVN Community Life Manager.

Through the support of PVN residents and teammates and a young volunteer like Emeree, local students will begin the school year ready for success.
