KICKING OFF VOLUME THREE OF PVN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S BOOK REVIEW SERIES

Presbyterian Village North (PVN) more than 115 residents started the year with a captivating discussion during the third installment of Executive Director, Dustin Allen’s popular book review series. Held last night, the event featured Framed: Astonishing True Stories of Wrongful Convictions by John Grisham and Jim McCloskey, a #1 New York Times bestseller that dives into ten harrowing true stories of justice denied.

Over coffee and cookies, residents explored the powerful narratives penned by Grisham, “the master of the legal thriller,” and McCloskey, “the godfather of the innocence movement.” The book reveals the heartbreaking realities of wrongful convictions and exposes the systemic flaws—racism, corruption and flawed testimony—that make these cases so difficult to overturn.

Dustin led the engaging discussion with his signature style, encouraging residents to reflect on the injustices detailed in the book and the importance of advocating for those wrongly imprisoned. The conversation sparked thoughtful dialogue among attendees at the conclusion of the program.

This latest book review further solidified its place as a cherished tradition at PVN, bringing the community together for meaningful discussions and a shared love of literature. With such a strong start to 2025, residents eagerly await the next book in the series.
