On Saturday, November 1, Presbyterian Village North (PVN) resident Vicki Keltner, 76, took the stage at the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant in Richardson, Texas. Competing in this prestigious celebration of women over 60, Vicki did an outstanding job representing PVN, her community and her personal mission to inspire others to embrace aging as a vibrant chapter of life.
Approximately 30 residents and teammates from PVN attended the pageant to cheer her on, filling the Hilton Richardson with enthusiastic support.
Vicki’s charm and spirit resonated with the audience during her comedic talent and showcasing of her evening gown, earning her the esteemed “People’s Choice Award.” She received a trophy to commemorate this honor—a testament to the impact she made.
Vicki’s journey to the pageant wasn’t just about the competition; it was about advocating for the value seniors bring to society and showcasing aging as a time for continued growth. As a lifelong advocate for women in business, Vicki has expanded her focus in recent years to champion senior health, wellness and rights. Competing in the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant offered her a platform to share this message widely, inspiring others to see aging as a time to thrive.
Reflecting on her journey, Vicki shared, “I want women my age to know that we are not defined by our years, but by what we do with them.” Her words captured the essence of the pageant’s mission: to celebrate the “positive image of aging” and encourage senior women to lead with pride and purpose.
Congratulations, Vicki!
