Honoring Patriotism with The Wall That Heals

On Friday, May 3, the residents of Presbyterian Village North (PVN) were filled with a sense of patriotism and honor as they visited The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and its mobile Education Center. This meaningful and free exhibit, hosted by Frisco Veterans for Foreign War (VFW) Post 8273, stood proudly in Frisco, Texas, from May 2-5. Each evening at sunset, the solemn sound of TAPS echoed through the air at the display.

The Wall That Heals serves as a poignant tribute to the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. Its surface bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. For those who have struggled to face The Wall in Washington, D.C., this traveling exhibit provides an opportunity for healing within their own communities. It instills a sense of pride and solidarity among veterans and their families, fostering the courage needed to confront the memories and honor the fallen.

In 2023, The Wall That Heals traveled nearly 18,000 miles, visiting 32 communities across the nation. Its presence serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served and a testament to the enduring spirit of patriotism and honor in America.
