October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a significant annual reminder to prioritize regular mammograms, as early detection saves lives. Statistics reveal that one in eight women will face a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
In recognition of the resilience displayed by those personally affected by breast cancer, Presbyterian Village North recently celebrated some remarkable survivors. This group, comprised of both residents and teammates, gathered for a special Pink Ribbon Breakfast. This heartwarming event took place in the elegant surroundings of the Hawthorne’s Sky Lounge, offering a sunny atmosphere for survivors to recount their journeys, including their diagnosis, treatment and recovery, while also sharing messages of encouragement and hope.
As attendees indulged in delightful pink culinary offerings, such as pink cotton candy-infused beverages and strawberry yogurt parfaits, they engaged in meaningful conversations and shared in the spirit of togetherness. Raffles were held for fabulous gift baskets brimming with pink ribbon-themed gifts and special guest Jennefer Dixon, a Faith Presbyterian Hospice music therapist, provided inspiring music.
