PVN Foundation Celebrates Walking Path

On June 28, the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) Foundation hosted a very special event featuring a ribbon cutting and catered barbecue luncheon in honor of PVN’s new walking path, made possible by a grant to PVN from the PVN Foundation. The joyous occasion took place in McGowan Auditorium, filled with a crowd of more than 250 guests, including PVN Foundation board members, residents, teammates, special family members and some of the hard-working vendors that made the construction possible. The celebration began with an opening prayer by Diane Reynolds, President and Chief Operating Officer of the PVN Foundation, followed by moving words from Corbet Bryant, PVN resident and PVN Foundation Chair.

During the presentation, an official rendering revealed the namesakes of the path as the Bob and Ruth Maier Walking Path and displayed the poignant verses of Proverbs 4:10-12, as inscribed on the plaque. PVN residents were encouraged to view the Maier Walking Path as an opportunity to socialize and get fit while enjoying and exploring the 66 acres of PVN’s beautiful campus. As the guest of honor, Bob Maier ceremoniously led the ribbon-cutting, with a photo-worthy flourish. Residents and teammates alike are encouraged to use the path to “remain active, reflect on life and make new friends.”

With the final phases of construction underway, everyone is encouraged to put safety first by keeping off the path until its official completion in a few more weeks. Click here to learn more about the good work being accomplished by the PVN Foundation.

Listen, my child, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom, and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.
