Producing engaging and enjoyable activities for residents are the specialty of the Assisted Living (AL) Community Life Team at Presbyterian Village North (PVN). This special team includes Maurisha Bowie, Valarie Canfield, Teresa Fox and Mychelle Edwards-Cruz and they are specifically dedicated to carefully planning and facilitating activities according to resident interests and requests.
While a wide variety of programming is continually available throughout the year, the holiday season is especially busy and bustling with activity! So far this season, some of the holiday-focused offerings have included creating festive wreaths, decorating community and individual Christmas trees, baking holiday cookies, crafting handmade cards, customizing ornaments and much more!
“Our team is special because in everything we do, we put our residents at the forefront. We are committed to offering the highest quality of activities and we are very competitive. We also communicate openly with each other and have clear strong goals. We care about one another, and we have fun together!” Maurisha Bowie, PVN Community Life Manager, said.
Because some AL residents aren’t able to travel outside the community to complete holiday shopping, the Community Life team takes extra care in planning crafts that can be wrapped and gifted to the resident’s loved ones. This results in families receiving not only beautiful, but priceless treasured pieces – truly gifts from the heart.
