Resident, Leo Lee, Shares Woodworking Talent

For Presbyterian Village North (PVN) resident Leo Lee, woodworking has been a gratifying, lifelong hobby. As a child growing up in Austin, Texas, he learned the craft from his father and grandfather, who were both talented wood and metalworkers.

Some of Leo’s remarkable works are pictured below, including his most meaningful completed project: crosses made from Cherry wood, representing his Christian faith through Christ’s death and resurrection. Leo shared that he also crafted a cross especially for the PVN Spiritual Life congregation to use when the Chapel was under construction. Leo gifts many of his pieces to his large immediate family, including four grown children and their spouses, as well as seven grandchildren and their spouses. Some of his PVN neighbors are also the lucky recipients of these beautifully crafted items.

Leo is a member of PVN’s skilled woodworking group. He enjoys the comradery of working with other resident woodworkers on various projects, and Leo’s personal creations are often inspired by his gifted colleagues’ designs. He is currently hoping to create a lamp stand or bud vase from a beautiful piece of Aspen wood he brought back from a recent trip to Colorado.

Leo and his wife, Jerry, have been residents of PVN since 2016. This year, they will celebrate 68 years of marriage.
