This spring, Presbyterian Village North’s (PVN) beloved sewing bunch, the Sew ‘N Sews, continued their legacy of giving back.
This resident-led group made an impressive donation of hand-crafted Easter bunnies benefitting pediatric patients at PediPlace. As a favorite non-profit of the Sew ‘N Sews, PediPlace provides healthcare for children (from birth through age 18) who are uninsured or who receive Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program benefits.
This season’s remarkable stash of handmade comfort items included 475 stuffed bunnies, 250 ouchies, 91 baby caps and 40 stuffed bears. Each of these items were created with the hope of spreading joy while providing comfort to some very deserving children. The Sew ‘N Sews filled numerous bags with their adorable, hand-stitched creations and Shari Markey, PediPlace CEO, made a special trip to the PVN campus to thank the group in person as she collected their donations.
The Sew ‘N Sews group is open to all PVN residents and meets every Tuesday to stich and fellowship together. Contact Letty Valdez to inquire about joining this crafty crew.
