PVN Limits outside Visitors

Dear Residents, Teammates and Family Members,

The leadership team at Forefront Living meets each morning to review and discuss the organization’s response to pandemic. We review protocols, procedures and carefully track how the virus is impacting our state and our local community. Furthermore, I meet with Resident Council leadership daily to discuss the same information.  As you are most likely aware, we are currently experiencing a sharp increase in cases of COVID-19 in Texas and in particular, Dallas County. We received word this afternoon that Dallas County broke yet another record with an additional 496 new cases of the virus identified today.

Our organization has worked diligently to keep the virus at bay. Presbyterian Village North (PVN) was among the first retirement communities to amend communal services and ask Independent Living residents not to leave the campus. Because of this quick action and strict adherence to protocols we were able to limit the impact of the first wave of COVID-19 on our campus. Also, this approach enabled us to restore certain limited services such as the beauty shop and fitness center.  It is now evident that we may be experiencing a second resurgence of the virus.  As before, we need to be nimble in our reaction to protect ourselves against the spread of the virus.

Beginning Monday, June 29, 2020, we are suspending all outside visits to the PVN campus. We are also strongly requesting that residents NOT leave the campus, except for medical or essential appointments.  Please remember that wearing a mask in public spaces is now required by law. We also encourage you to be diligent with proper handwashing and social distancing when you move about the campus.

We are hopeful that these quick actions will enable us to continue the limited services we have restored.  This decision is a difficult one and is far from the most popular option, however it is the right choice considering the health and welfare of those who live at PVN and call it home.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We are watching this situation closely and provide you with regular updates.

As always, please feel free to contact us at pvninfo@forefrontliving.org or 214-355-9019.
