Teammate Tests Positive for COVID-19

Dear Assisted Living Residents and Family Members,

We learned today that one of our contract therapists who works in assisted living, which includes The Terraces and Joyce Hall, tested positive for COVID-19.  We recognize this news is unsettling to everyone.   We have identified the residents the therapist worked with and are reaching out to them and their families individually.   While this contract teammate worked with a small number of residents, we will test all residents and teammates in The Terraces and Joyce Hall. While the contract therapist was not symptomatic, they were included in the testing of all therapists providing direct care across the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) campus.  The entire therapy department is currently isolating off campus pending further test results.

As you are aware, we have been diligent with our infection control procedures and screening of teammates, including checking temperatures upon entrance to any of our facilities and we have strict guidelines when teammates are not feeling well.  Beginning in early March we enacted the precautionary measures recommended by the CDC, implemented enhanced operational protocols and procedures and have made significant changes as well as modifications to our everyday operations to help us quickly identify individuals whether they were residents, patients or teammates who may have COVID-19. These measures have proved helpful in this situation.

We understand you are concerned and want further information.  Our desire is to provide thorough and transparent communication on a regular basis.   We will begin holding regular recorded updates via Zoom. Should you have questions that are general in nature and you feel would benefit the entire group please submit them to pvninfo@forefrontliving.org and we will do our best to include them in the update.  Should you need immediate information please contact 214-355-9019.

Sincerely,

Bryan Cooper
